United Way of LaPorte County Board

 
An 17-member volunteer Board of Directors exercises total decision making and policy setting authority over the United Way of LaPorte County. These volunteers come from all walks of life throughout LaPorte County and are accountable to the people of this community. When people or firms contribute to the United Way campaign, their funds come under the stewardship of these volunteers who work diligently to keep necessary costs to a minimum. Board Member

Vice President and General Manager, Sullair Corporation

Robert joined Sundstrand Corporation in 1982 as part of the cooperative education program and signed on full time as an engineer in the Energy Systems group in 1985. While in aerospace, Robert held roles of increasing responsibility from a Program Engineer to Master Engineer within the legacy Sundstrand organization. In 1998, Robert left the aerospace organization to become the Engineering Manager for the portable compressor division at Sullair Corporation.

While at Sullair Corporation, Robert held positions of Engineering Manager, Operations Manager, and Vice President & General Manager of Portable products up until 2009 when he became the Director of Business Development. In 2011, Robert was named Vice President & General Manager for Sullair Americas.

Robert holds an MBA from Purdue University Calumet and a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Marquette University. Robert has participated in both the UTC Emerging Leaders and the UTC Executive Program at Darden. Robert is a registered Professional Engineer.

Robert has been actively involved with United Way at Sullair Corporation since 2003 and instituted the Auction which turned into an annual event. Robert also volunteers at Sullair sponsored United Way events throughout the year.
