Superintendent, LaPorte Community School Corporation

Glade is in his first year as superintendent of the LaPorte Community School Corporation. He came to LaPorte from Lafayette where he spent 27 years in the Lafayette School Corporation as a math teacher, coach, assistant athletic director, assistant principal, associate principal, principal, and assistant superintendent.

During his time as an administrator, Glade has taken an active part in many aspects of running a school and leading a district. Through working with discipline, he has been very proactive in dealing with students and their parents to bring about positive changes in behavior. He has worked extensively with curriculum and instructional development, particularly with younger staff members at both Tecumseh Middle School and Jefferson High School. Glade has been responsible for recruiting, interviewing, and hiring many new staff members while at Tecumseh and Jeff. As associate principal for curriculum and instruction, he spent time expanding and aligning curriculum, as well as overseeing the guidance department and developing the master schedule for Jefferson High School. As a central office administrator, he served as the chief academic officer, directly supervising all 10 schools in the district, overseeing the district Title I grant, and directing the district-wide assessment program. Currently as superintendent of the LaPorte Community Schools, he oversees all aspects of the district including supervising all eleven schools, working with the central office staff, and staying engaged in the community.

Continued educational growth and life-long learning are essential to sustaining effective leadership. Glade earned bachelors, masters, and doctoral degrees from Purdue University and also graduated from the Indiana Principals Leadership Academy in the spring of 2004.

While in Lafayette, Glade served on several boards including the YMCA, Tippecanoe County Board of Health, and Junior Achievement. He has served as a volunteer coach for Lafayette Youth Baseball. In addition, Glade also served on the Tippecanoe County United Way campaign cabinet.
