2008 was an outstanding campaign year for LaPorte County. Through the guidance of a campaign cabinet comprised of high-profile business & community leaders and the diligent efforts of our employee campaign managers and loaned executives we raised $1,107,748 - exceeding our annual campaign goal for the second consecutive year.

Success Story #1
Monday, August 11th was the 4th Annual Golf Tournament benefiting the United
Way of LaPorte County. Congratulations to John Thompson, Roy Jones and their
team at Sullair for another successful event. A special thanks to Tonn & Blank for
their sponsorship and to all the golfers who came out to support the United Way.
This year the event netted nearly $25,000 which is about $9,000 more then in
2007.

Success Story #2
Congratulations to Jed Runnells, Business Manager-Indiana District and his crew
at the UPS Station in Westville for a Successful Campaign. Last year they donated
over $15,000 to the United Way. This year they are 15% over last year!
What a great job and a great way to start off the 2008 Campaign.

Success Story #3
MSD-New Durham Township (Westville Schools) has a 160% increase in this
year's employee pledge. Great job to Bill Hanna and Dick Cook, Corporate
Manager for MSD-New Durham Township Schools for an excellent job on this
year's campaign!

Success Story #4
Congratulations to LE, Jennifer Marshall, Henry Lampe and Lance Werner of
Chicago South Shore and South Bend Railroad for an awesome campaign this
year!
They have a 34% increase! Great job team!

Success Story #5
Congratulations to Andy Neal, 2008 LE, and HMX Tailored for a great effort this
year with their campaign. They are up in the number of contributors and the
amount of their pledge is up 20.10%.

Success Story #6
Congratulations to Andy Neal, LE and UW Board Member, on his hard work with
Filter Specialists. Contributions increased 106% and number of donors went from
39 to 64. Awesome job Andy!!!

Success Story #7
Congratulations to the St. Anthony's team of Ellen Sharpe (LE), Kathy Mosley
(LE) and Dr. Jim Callaghan (UW Board Member) for a great campaign. Both
Contributions and donors are up 7%. Great job team!!

Success Story #8
Congratulations to Steve Bernth for bringing in a $500 Corporate gift from Kabelin
Ace Hardware for the first time in 5 years. Way to go Steve!!

Success Story #9
Congratulations to Renee Barton with the help of Mark Savage and Nickey
Westphal for doing an awesome job presenting at the Meijer Store. Their
contributions are up 42% this year. Great team work!!
